ATTEMPTING TO RECONCILE THE ALWAYS KNOWN WITH THE NEWLY LEARNED
Jim Blackstock is a photographer and writer currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. He is interested in architecture, design, language, and economics.
Specializing in architectural photography, he elevates the structure and form of everyday objects to create new and engaging views of the built environment. In his writing, he explores the links between human relationships and creativity, using story to understand the existential desire for our ceaseless manipulation of the world around us.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Jim has lived and worked in Scotland, Germany, Canada, and the U.S. His artwork focuses on the patterns, structures, and underlying geometrics that permeate our lives.
He has over 15 years experience in film and television production, and worked seven seasons on the hit U.S. TV show Extreme Makeover Home Edition, in the camera and audio departments. Other notable shows include: The Quest, Steven Seagal: Lawman, Nashville Star, Jersey Shore, The Great Food Truck Race, Tattoo Highway, Kid Nation, and Listed Sisters.
He is currently working on a TV pilot about the art industry.
