M. Arch Project - Fall 2023
Intercession takes its name from the act of mediating the riparian edge of the Flatrock River with a new community center. Sited between an urban context and a rural floodplain, the site acts as a liminal threshold between our built environment and our natural places.

Inspiration was taken from the cairns of slate rock found at the nearby river. The formal structure is eroded and pulled apart, creating a series of two buildings with solar art in between. This distribution of formal elements elongates the threshold created by the two buildings, acting as aliminal gateway between Noblitt park and Downtown Columbus, Indiana.
